Scan Panels

When you launch a course in preview mode, Scan will inject new UI elements into the course player experience. You may see different elements and panels appear based on the condition and lesson shown. Below is a reference to the different elements that you will see along with a description on how to use it and when it appears.

Scan Widget Panel

This panel will be injected below the course progress area when you are in course preview mode. From here you will be able to re-launch the Course Scans Panel or Welcome Panels at any time.

Welcome Panel

This panel appears on the right hand side of the screen when you launch the course previewer. You can also return to this panel by clicking on the Scan Help. Start Here link inside the Scan Widget Panel

On this panel:

• Welcome Video: See note below

• Course Scan option - this will change the scan panel to the Course Scans Panel that will show a list of scans to run for the course in general. This is a great place to start before getting into individual lesson scans.

• Scan This Lesson option - this will open up the lesson type list of scans for the current lesson. Depending on the type of lesson it is, you will see a different list of scans to run.

The Welcome video is very important to watch in order to get the most out of Scan. It also may be different based on your course content, so be sure to watch it first

Course Scans Panel

This panel will be shown when you choose the Run Course Scans button from the Scan Widget Panel or from the Welcome Panel. This will show a list of scans that will help you with some best practices for your course experience in general. It is recommended to at least run through all of these scans before doing lesson specific scans

On this panel:

• Course Scan Video: This video will give you an overview of what we will be looking for in the set of scans shown. It is recommended to watch this before you run one of the scans on the panel

• List of Course Scans: When selected, the associated scan will run and then show you the results for that particular scan in the Scan Results Panel. When navigating back to the list, an icon and color indicators will show the results of the scans that were performed.

Lesson Specific Scans Panel

This panel will be shown when you choose a lesson from left hand side. This will show a list of scans that that are specific for the lesson type. As you switch between lesson types, you will see different options and overview videos.

On this panel:

• Scans Overview Video: This video will give you an overview of what we will be looking for in the set of scans shown for this specific lesson. It is recommended to watch this before you run one of the scans on the panel

• List of Scans: When selected, the associated scan will run and then show you the results for that particular scan in the Scan Results Panel. When navigating back to the list, an icon and color indicators will show the results of the scans that were performed.

Scan Results Panel

This will be shown after you select a scan from one of the Lesson Specific Scans Panel or Course Scans Panel. Each result is unique per lesson/scan.

On this panel:

• Results Video: This video will contain a short explanation and recomendation based on the result for that specific lesson. The videos will be different based on the scan results, so it is important to watch them.

• Success Messages; if the scan results in a positive result, it will be shown in green

• Warnings: If the scan resulted in any warnings, they will be shown in yellow with a short description

• Critical Messages: If the scan resulted in any critical warnings, then it will be shown in red

• Pro Tips: sometimes scan results will contain important tips and information for you to consider. They will be shown in a light blue color
